I thought I'd upload a little run down of "the details" of Christmas Day, what I wore and what was on my face. In our household and family, Christmas day is a day to dress up and so that is exactly what we did. I picked up this gorgeous short frilled jumpsuit from Zara a few weeks ago. For somebody who nearly only ever wears black, this striking red smock-style playsuit was a bit of a risk for me. I kinda bought it on a whim not knowing whether it would really look good on me but I'm so happy with the way it looked in the end. The bold red colour really helped to give it that festive vibe, and because of the loose smock-style element, it was extremely comfortable all day - even while and after eating enough food to feed the millions.
On my face I went for the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation, it's a great full coverage option for when you know you are going to be taking photographs as there's no SPF in it. The coverage is great and extremely long lasting on the skin too; I really didn't want to have to be worrying about my makeup, whether it had creased, faded, on gone patchy, and it's safe to say, this definitely did the trick. I applied the Instablur primer by The Body Shop first to help give a smooth and easy base to work with and then applied a little bit of the Nars Copacabana liquid highlight on top of the foundation to give me the perfect glow. I decided to use the Illamasqua Cream Pigment in Hollow for my contour, trying to keep my base as creamy and as dewy as possible. For blusher, I decided to use a little bit of Nars Douceur.
For eyes, my lovely sister bought me the Anastasia Modern Renaissance palette so naturally, I decided to give that a whirl. (Yup, I love it. Yup, it's as good as everyone says. Yup, you also need it.) I kept things quite pink and girly for the eyes, and, to be honest, tried to find a way of incorporating the majority of the shades in the palette into my eye look. I used a little bit of my Urban Decay Perversion Liquid Liner* and then used Urban Decay Perversion Mascara*.
I will be uploading a "What I Got For Christmas" which may possibly feature a few little bits I picked up in the Boxing Day Sales too. After that, I think the Christmas content on these parts is finished with. I've got a few reflection posts for the new year, and then a bunch of new and exciting content planned for 2017.
Make sure to leave a comment below letting me know what makeup you wore for Christmas day, or a highlight of the day!
